The Lady Jackets only got in two games over the last week again due to weather. They got another victory over Huntland and then fell to Whitwell Monday. The team is 3-1 overall and 1-0 in district play.
“We’re playing better ball. Tonight was two good ball teams playing a good game. It was a 3-1 game and we had chance to win it in the 7th. That’s what you look for is a chance to win it at the end. We’re playing a lot better defense. Our bats were working better tonight than they have. It goes as an L but it really wasn’t a loss. It was a good game against a non-district team.
“It was good to sweep Huntland. They’re a pretty good team and considering the amount of field time we had we showed a lot of improvement from the first game to the second. All in all I’m proud of the way we’re progressing. This early in the season that’s what you’re looking for is are you getting better as the season goes. From the way we played tonight we are,” said Coach Jason Evans.
Tuesday the Lady Jackets traveled to Van Buren. Thursday they host Bledsoe County for a pink out game starting at 5 p.m. They will take spring break off and begin play April 3, in the Lady Panther Classic in Cookeville. Get out and support the Lady Jackets this week!
