The Lady Jackets were looking much better this past week offensively and defensively and picked up their first district win against Bledsoe County 9-2. They fell to Moore County 10-8 and Marion County 24-6. The Lady Jackets are now 3-13 overall and 1-5 in District 7AA.
“We are finally starting to play the way we are capable of. The last few games we have become more aggressive at the plate and our defense has begun to step up. It was great to get a District win vs Bledsoe.
“Bailee has been pitching really well, and it was great to see the defense step up and get the outs she needed.
“As the season is winding down, we feel like we can really surprise some people. As long as we keep building on this past week’s successes, we will be fine going into the district tournament.
“With 4 games this week, 2 being district, we really want to focus on playing clean and aggressively.
“This team has been very resilient through a lot of adversity, but I credit our seniors with keeping things together as we look to finish strong. Teah, Liz, Kara and Kristin have been a great blessing to this program, and they deserve to have a strong finish,” says Coach Evans.
