Deputy Greg King recently graduated from the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy at Donelson. King, who served as a correctional officer for two years, graduated with honors. Additionally, Deputy King graduated with the top average in the law curricula and was awarded a $5,000 scholarship to Bethel University for his efforts.
Sheriff Clint Shrum stated, “I am extremely proud of Greg’s accomplishment. Not only is this good for him, this is good for our agency and county.”
King is the second Grundy County deputy in as many basic classes to receive special recognition for their efforts. Last year, Deputy Paul Sweeton received the physical fitness award from his graduating class.
“This tells me that we have good, well-trained employees working at the sheriff’s office. We have employees that we have to find a way to retain. I am committed to doing that in the coming year,” explained Sheriff Shrum.
