The Junior Jacket baseball team ran their season record to 6 – 1 as they swept through Whitwell Middle School last Tuesday 15 – 4 in five innings and Bledsoe County Middle School last Thursday 8 – 1. The Junior Jackets were set to travel to Sequatchie County Middle School this past Monday and were set to host Bledsoe County Middle School this past Tuesday. The Junior Jackets will be idle until April 27.

The Junior Jackets scored six runs in the first inning, two runs in the second inning, and added five runs in the third inning to all but put the Tigers away. Jaden Ruehling threw three hitless innings, while Summer Dees, Bailey Hill, Jacob Dixon, and Alex Killian each banged out two hits to lead the offensive explosion. Dees had a triple and two RBIs. Braxton Norris and Dixon added two RBIs each.

The Junior Jackets behind their ace Killian was able to keep the host Warriors at bay for the first three innings leading only 2 – 0. The Junior Jackets scored two runs in the fourth and three more in the fifth to give Killian all the support he needed. Killian gave up two hits, one earned run, walked three, and struck out 11. Offensively, Walt Jones went 3 – 4 with two RBIs. Dixon was 3 – 3 with two runs scored and an RBI. Killian and Hill each had two hits. Hill’s hit was a double.
