Junior Jackets Looking For #6

football2The Junior Jackets travel to Jasper Thursday night to take on Jasper Middle at the high school. Kickoff is set for 6:00 pm and the Grundy program hopes to notch their sixth win of the season.

Grundy’s young program has put up impressive numbers so far with several players standing out.

Leading the rushing has been Josh Wingo with 38 carries for 866 yards and 12 touchdowns. Ethan Nunley follows with 30 carries for 372 yards and 4 TDs. Isaac Carreto has notched 5 carries for 169 yards and 3 touchdowns. Kollyn Cooper has 10 totes for 127 yards and 2 scores. Brayden Sanders has 7 rushes for 102 yards and 1 TD. Hunter Sylvester has 9 carries for 46 yards.

In passing, Ethan Nunley leads by completing 10 of 14 for 252 yards and 3 TDs. Brayden Sanders has completed 3 of 5 for 43 yards.

Leading in receptions is Johnie Adkins with 6 for 172 yards and 2 TDs. Brayden Sanders has caught 2 for 56 yards. Kollyn Cooper has 2 for 43 yards. Evan Nunley has caught 3 for 24 yards.

Topping the defense is Josh Wingo with 35 tackles and 3 fumble recoveries. Kollyn Cooper has 14 tackles. Chase Meeks has 12 tackles. Brayden Sanders has 8 tackles. BrandonLe Bennett, Ethan Nunley, Johnie Adkins, Hagen Cash and Evan Nunley all have 7 tackles with Evan having 3 interceptions. Hunter Sylvester and Nicky Johnson have 5 tackles each.

Coach Casey Tate hopes that a large crowd will make the trip off the mountain to support the team as they look to remain undefeated on the season.
