The Junior Jacket football team coaches will hold a one day fundamental camp June 28 at the old high school field in Tracy City from 9:00 am until 12:00 p.m. Former Jacksonville Jaguar, Cleveland Brown, Tennessee Vol and Marion County Warrior Eric Westmoreland will be the guest speaker at the camp.
There is no cost for the camp and it is targeted for the 4th through 8th graders in Grundy County. However the team is seeking donations from those that can make any contribution to help get the Junior Jacket program back on a strong foothold.
Westmorland rushed for over 6000 yards and scored 85 TDs for Marion County and was on the three state championship teams. In college he was a starting linebacker for the Vols during their national championship year, a two time all SEC linebacker and had 253 tackles and 34 tackles for a loss.
Coach Casey Tate hopes for a big turnout for this free camp to help teach the future of Grundy County football.
