Posted on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at 11:30 am

The Grundy County Yellow Jackets took the field this past Friday night in Sequatchie County as they battled against two of the top teams in the Sequatchie Valley Jamboree. In their first quarter of play, Grundy faced the South Pittsburg Pirates. Despite Grundy’s efforts in moving the ball they couldn’t reach the end zone and fell to the Pirates 20-0.
For their second quarter of play, Grundy started off big against the Marion County Warriors on a Hagen Cash run that resulted in a touchdown for the Jackets. Grundy fought hard but just couldn’t hold the lead. The Warriors went on to score three touchdowns defeating the Jackets 21-7.
Grundy will be traveling tomorrow night to take on the Eagles of East Hickman County High School for their season opener. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. It’s a long drive for Grundy fans but the boys on the field would love to hear you in the stands.
Friday night lights are here Grundy fans and what better way to spend your Friday nights than cheering on our boys in purple. Come out, be loud and show your support!
