The Grundy County Yellow Jacket baseball team managed to get four games in last week despite stormy weather seemingly every other day. They dropped to 2 – 5 in District 7-AA as Chattanooga Christian swept the Jackets in their season series 11 – 1 in Chattanooga last Monday, and 12 – 5 last Wednesday at GCHS. The Jackets were able to pick up a pair of victories first at Huntland last Thursday 12 – 1 and Saturday at Cascade against Heritage Christian out of Indiana 5 – 2. They are now 5 – 5 overall on the season.

The Jackets were rained out Monday at Sequatchie County. They were scheduled to play the Indians at home Tuesday, but at press time that was still up in the air whether it would be played at home or at Sequatchie County. Monday’s game will be made up at 1 p.m., on April 29, according to where Tuesday’s game was played. The Jackets will participate in the Rebel Classic in Franklin County beginning today through Saturday. They are slated to play district foe Signal Mountain Monday at home at 5 p.m., and travel to Signal Mountain Tuesday at 5 p.m.

The Lady Jackets softball 2 – 6 overall and 0 – 1 in District 7-AA was supposed to play Moore County Monday, however the game was washed out and will be played tomorrow night at 6 p.m., at GCHS. The Lady Jackets hit the road next Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, with games at South Pittsburg Monday at 5 p.m., Bledsoe County Tuesday at 5 p.m., and Wednesday at Tullahoma at 6 p.m.
