Kyle Ingleburger, a senior at Franklin County High School and member of the Grundy County High School Bass Team, signed to fish for Tennessee Tech University on May 4.
The fishing duo of Ingleburger and Kyle Palmer (Team Kyle) first gained recognition in 2014, placing second in the BASS High School Open on Douglas Lake. The team was awarded the Sportsmanship Award for the event and qualified for the 2015 Bassmaster’s High School Classic on Lake Keowee, South Carolina, where they finished fourth.
Team Kyle fished the BASS High School National Championships all four years of their high school career. They are the 2016 Battle of Chickamauga Champions, the Smyrna Smackdown (Percy Priest Lake) champions, and the 2017 Fight at the Ford (Tims Ford) champions. In addition, they were named the GCHS Bass Team of the Year in 2014 and 2016.
In April, Team Kyle was selected by the Bassmaster All-American program as two all-state members for Tennessee.
Ingleburger is the first freshman recipient of a fishing scholarship at TTU.
