Hurricane Ivan Blew Through Grundy in 2004

In September 2004, the remnants of Hurricane Ivan blew through Grundy and Marion counties causing downed trees and power lines. It was estimated that one-third of the SVEC’s 32,000 customers were without power at some point during the storm.
