Monteagle held a luncheon for local veterans on March 31, in the conference room of the new police station. The luncheon brought awareness to the high suicide rate among vets.

“We have partnered with Mission 22, an organization to help with the high suicide rate of veterans,” said Citizen Service Coordinator Brandi Hargis, organizer of the event and ambassador for Mission 22.

In addition to fellowship among veterans and community members, attendees discussed future activities planned for veterans.

A Missing Man Table was set up to honor fallen, missing, or imprisoned U.S. Armed Forces members.
