The Grundy County Sheriff’s Department recently recovered stolen guns at a residence in Gruetli-Laager. The firearms were stolen in April, says Grundy County Sheriff Clint Shrum. “We have a suspect in the theft, and hope to make an arrest soon.” Discussing theft in the area, Shrum revealed that items valuing over $200,000 have been reported stolen since the first of the year. Last month, the sheriff’s department recovered $40,000 in stolen goods. “Community members can help deter theft and aid in recovery by recording serial numbers and taking pictures of their property,” says Shrum.
