The season ended earlier than expect for the Lady Yellow Jackets. Chattanooga Christian eliminated them from the district tournament Monday night. Grundy finished the season with a 13-14 overall record.
“Although our season ended earlier than we wanted, overall it was a good season. This group of seniors have established Grundy softball as a top district team year in and year out. We have gone from a team that no one expects to compete to a team that no one expects to get beat. That speaks volumes about this group of young ladies.
“All three of our seniors have recorded 100 or more career hits, and all three have the option of trying out for Roane State softball later this week. And, as much as we hate losing these three players, now we begin working on trying to raise the bar another rung with our upcoming seniors.
“I just want to thank Madison Burrows, Sierra Kilgore, and Madison Rogers for a wonderful four years with them, and our program is excited to see what they choose to do post high school. I also want to thank all of the parents and businesses that provided support for us this year. Our program has some of the best facilities and equipment in the area, and it is all due to their diligent work and commitment to our program,” said Coach Jason Evans.
