The Tennessee Farm Bureau Federation (TFBF) recognized Grundy County as one of the top Farm Bureau organizations in Tennessee at the TFBF Annual Convention held at Cool Springs Marriott in Franklin on Dec.7-9, 2014. Grundy County delegates are shown with the Pinnacle Partnership Award, which is the highest award that a county Farm Bureau may receive. The award encompasses the highest standards for membership, programs and teamwork as evidenced by the cooperation between volunteer leaders, agents and staff. Grundy was also named one of the top 5 counties in the state for the ETF Level III award. In addition, Grundy County received 9 gold stars out of a possible 11 gold stars for the Gold Star Recipient recognition, having maintained a backdoor loss with business below the state goal of 2%. Grundy Farm Bureau Women also received the blue award (highest level) for County Achievement. In addition to awards received, several Grundy delegates served in sate positions at the convention. George Clay, Bobby Thompson, and Judy Walling served as voting delegates for the review and approval of Farm Bureau Resolutions, and Edwene Clay served as Chairman of the Credentials Committee as well as voting delegate for the state Farm Bureau Women’s meeting. Judy Walling has also been nominated by the Tennessee Farm Bureau Board of Directors to serve on the Congressional District National Affairs Action Committee for the 114th Congress.
