For the third year in a row, Grundy County has received the 3-Star Award for Performance, Accountability, and Efficiency.
“This honor would not be possible if it wasn’t for everyone working together,” stated Grundy County Mayor Michael Brady. “I want to thank my staff. This award is important to us. This status allows us to receive higher grant ratings and larger amounts of grant funding.
“While at the Governor’s Conference, I was honored and proud to represent our beloved Grundy County. I had the opportunity to talk with the TDOT Commissioner and discuss our continuing efforts to improve our roads in Grundy County. I also had the opportunity to speak with the Economic Community Development Commissioner about our grants, including a $500k industrial grant.
“I also had conversation with our State Parks and Tourism Department concerning the development of our parks and other endeavors with tourism, which is a key factor to our beautiful county. I had talks with organizations about industrial development.
“I was privileged to listen in on reports from Senator Bob Corker regarding foreign relations and the concerns on the subject of North Korea. Senator Lamar Alexander gave a speech on moving forward and the keys to success and leadership. I had the opportunity to speak to Governor Bill Haslam and voice concerns that are vital to our County’s well-being and advancement in the future.
“The conference was extremely productive and I am very excited about the many positive actions taking place that I believe will move our beloved Grundy County forward,” explained Brady.
