Kyle Palmer, a senior on the Grundy County Bass team, was recognized as one of the top 12 anglers in the country, when he was named to the Bassmaster High School All – American Fishing Team presented by Dick’s Sporting Goods.
There were 380 applicants from 40 states. Only 69 anglers chosen to be considered all – state. From those 69, the best 12 anglers in the country were selected as All – Americans.
Palmer has accomplished a lot during his successful career with the Grundy County Bass team. He has six wins in the past year. Wins include a 160 boat Bassmaster High School divisional at Lake Chickamauga and a 93-boat event on Percy Priest Lake. He had five other top 10 finishes. Along with partner, Kyle Ingleburger, he was part of the GCHS Bass Team of the Year.
He is currently in his second year as president of the GCHS Bass team and has assisted in two major fundraisers for freshman teammate Hunter Northcutt, who is battling cancer.
