Grundy County Sheriff Clint Shrum announced on Monday that the Sheriff’s Office had received a $5,000 donation from Colonial Pipeline for the purchase of an all-terrain vehicle.
“From time to time, our deputies work cases that lead them down the pipeline. Many times, these are areas we cannot take patrol vehicles,” explained Sheriff Shrum.
“Additionally, in the event of an emergency on the pipeline, we would be able to respond in a timelier manner.”
Colonial Pipeline is the largest refined products pipeline in the United States, transporting more than 100 million gallons of fuel daily to meet the energy needs of consumers from Houston, Texas, to the New York Harbor. The company also connects refineries with customers and markets throughout the Southern and Eastern United States through a pipeline system that spans more than 5,500 miles between Houston, Texas, and Linden, New Jersey.
