GCHS Golfers End Season at Region Tourney

The Grundy Golf Teams headed back to Fall Creek Falls for the Region

Tournament Monday, October 5. Grundy’s boys finished 6th in the team

Competition.

Juniors John Meeks and Zach Borne finished the season strong, with an 83 and 84, respectively. Sophomore Emily Smith finished with a 115.

golfIn team competition, Notre Dame and Macon County were the favorites and tied at 324 after 18 holes. Notre Dame won the one-hole playoff to earn a trip to the State Tournament in Manchester at Willowbrook this week. Coach

Coach Trey Foster was pleased with the team’s success this season. “The guys finished with a 13-4 record, and both teams are young and improving. We’ve also got some more talent coming, so I think we have a lot to look forward to in the future.”

Notre Dame – 324, Macon County – 324, Dekalb County – 331, Signal Mountain – 336, Central Magnet – 360, Grundy County – 382 (John Meeks, 83; Zach Borne, 84; Hunter Ladd, 99; Ajay Tenenbaum, 116; and Jessie Davis, 131).

Girls

Signal Mountain – 166, Central Magnet   – 187, Macon County   – 191, Chattanooga Christian,   198, Upperman –       207, Clay County     – 223, Grundy County – no team score (Emily Smith 115).
