GCHS cheerleaders win us finals

Grundy County High School cheerleaders won the 2014 U.S. Finals, a regional national competition, in Pensacola, Florida on April 12. The team is now nationally ranked, and is awaiting the results of six other regional competitions to find out their national ranking. This is the first time a cheerleading squad from GCHS has competed at the national level. In all, the competition last Saturday hosted 137 teams from across the nation, and the world. GCHS cheerleaders competed against 2 other teams in their division. “The girls have overcome several obstacles, including losing members prior to competition,” coach Teresa Fann reports. “This was the end of our season; it was truly an amazing ride. The sport of cheerleading is alive and well in Grundy County.”
