GCHS Cheerleaders Receive Championship Rings

ring ceremonyThe 2014-15 GCHS cheerleaders recently received their championship rings for placing first in the nation. The cheerleaders traveled to Six Flags in March to compete in the coastal competition where they received first place and best choreography with a bid to compete in Pensacola. After winning their division in Pensacola, they received white championship jackets. Their routine was then reviewed two more times by different judges placing them in brackets. It came down to Grundy and Orcutt Academy Spartan Cheer Team in Chicago for the final two. On May 15, the GCHS cheerleaders were announced first in the nation. Members of the 2015 team include: Seniors: Madison Keel, Paige Meeks and Keon Meeks; Juniors: Charity Johnson, Baylee Meeks and Amanda Morgan Fann; Sophomores: Rebekah Barrett, Katie Scissom, Kelsi Mott, MaKenzi Melton, Shannon Barrett, Madison Nunley, MyKenzi Eldridge, Autumn Parmley, Alivia Jade Fann and Marcy McDaniel; Freshmen: Jenny Beth Nunley and Kira Fox.
