IMG_0684aThe GCHS Bass Team will hit the waters again Saturday for Yamaha’s Top 25 Championship of the Southeast TN B.A.S.S. High School Trail on Lake Guntersville out of the ramp at the dam in Jasper. Only the top 25 in points for the trail series have made the event. Nine of Grundy’s 12 boats are qualified and will fish. Weigh in will be at 3 p.m.

Teams will be fighting for the first place prize of two $1,000 scholarships from Yamaha Outboards. Places will be paid for the top five boats and all teams fishing will receive gift packs worth more than their entry fees for the entire tournament trail.

Grundy’s teams will fish into the summer as well, with several boats traveling to the TN B.A.S.S. Nation state championship on Lake Cherokee above Jefferson City. Two more slots to the B.A.S.S. Nationals are on the line in that tournament.

Three of the GCHS teams are already qualified for the B.A.S.S. Nationals July 22-24, on Kentucky Lake. Anyone interested in helping sponsor the teams for these trips can contact Coach David Lowrie at dlowrie@blomand.net or 931-235-6216 for information on how to donate.
