Alexa Fults, a Grundy County High School junior, swam in her second high school swim meet of the 2015 – 2016 season on November 6, at the Manchester Recreation Center. Grundy and Warren County High swim teams hosted high school swim teams from seven additional schools including Coffee County, Franklin County, Highland Rim, Fayetteville, Lincoln County, St. Andrews/Sewanee, and Tullahoma.

AlexaFults competed against swimmers from other teams in two events, the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard freestyle. She placed first in both events and displayed awesome speed despite almost losing her goggles in the first 25 yards of the 100-yard freestyle.

After a late night Friday, Fults was in the pool at the D.W. Wilson Recreation Center in Tullahoma at 7 a.m., on Saturday morning to warmup for the annual SE Great Pumpkin Meet hosted by the Tullahoma Swim Club. The competition included swim teams from Brentwood, Franklin, Madison, Manchester, Nashville, Sewanee, and Tullahoma.

On Saturday, Fults swam the 50-yard freestyle, 100-yard freestyle and the 100-yard backstroke. Her backstroke time qualified her to swim that event at the MTHSSA High School Region Championship. She had previously qualified to swim the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle. The Grundy County Swim Team will be represented at the regional championship for the third consecutive year.
