On Saturday, she swam the 200 freestyle achieving a personal best time of 2:09.81, and placing first in her heat. This time qualified her to compete in this event at the TISCA Tennessee State Swimming and Diving Championships at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville in February.

Sunday brought more cheers when Alexa swam the 100 freestyle at a pace of 59.39, and qualified to swim this event at state. In addition, Alexa’s times during the weekend qualified her to swim the two previous events as well as the 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke at the Middle Tennessee Regional Championship at the Centennial Sportsplex in Nashville in January.

GCHS’s first high school swim meet will be on November 15, at the Winchester Swim Plex. GCHS will compete against Franklin County, Warren County, and Webb School.
