Test Pushdown

From the Trustee’s Desk

Posted on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at 12:48 pm

I hope everyone has had a great winter so far. We have been very busy in the office. At this point, we have collected around 70 percent of property taxes and the personal property taxes were just recently mailed out.
I want to remind everyone that if you have unpaid 2017 unpaid taxes, they are accruing interest monthly. So, if you have any, for your benefit, you need to come by or mail payment to the Trustee’s Office and pay them or set up payments. On April 1, those unpaid taxes will be turned over to the Clerk and Master to begin the legal process of collection.
Regarding the current 2018 taxes mailed out in October, tax payers have the ability to pay those taxes until February 28, without a penalty.
Tax Relief applicants, I want to remind you to bring the voucher that you received along with your tax notice to the Trustee’s office as soon as possible. If you are 65 years old, a disabled home owner, or a 100 percent service-connected disabled veteran, the income limit is $29,000 (with the exception of veterans, which there is no income limit for).
I encourage you to come by the Trustee’s office and bring social security cards, Medicare cards, and proof of income and allow myself or one of my employees to assist you with applying for tax relief.
Payment options are as follows: Paying in office, as well as all Citizen Tri County Banks, or mailing payment to P.O. Box 32 Altamont, TN 37301.
