From The Mayor’s Desk

michael bradyMy fellow Grundy County citizens,

I hope all are doing well. As promised, it is an initiative of the Grundy County Mayor’s Office to be honest and keep you, the citizens of Grundy County informed on the issues, concerns, and progress of our county.

The month of September will be a very busy month.

First, we are getting our feet firmly planted and setting standards of high expectations. We will take all necessary steps to become compliant in regards to State of Tennessee County Government statutes.

Secondly, we face an issue of Grundy County budgets. There have been no budgets passed by the County Commission. If budgets are not passed by October 1, it will affect several aspects of our County Government. I have made steps to implement a working budget, and am confident we can resolve this concern.

Thirdly, the matter of a new jail is moving fast at its current stage. I attended a pre-bid hearing on August 28. The original date to open bids was September 4, however I felt that date should be delayed until September 16 to insure, stress, and give notice that every qualified sub or business in Grundy County has the opportunity to bid. Please feel free to contact the Mayor’s Office for information on biding or subbing.

I am very excited and encouraged of the focus of the incumbents and incoming commissioners. I look forward to working with them to move Grundy forward. Thank you. Your prayers are much appreciated.

God bless,

Michael Brady

Grundy County Mayor
