Free Activities for Children, Teens, and Adults

Grundy County has not cancelled schools over Coronavirus concerns at this time. However, as a proactive measure, we have decided to begin a list of educational, religious, and entertainment sites that offer everyone options for learning and enjoyment in the event they are quarantined or staying indoors. This list is by no means comprehensive, and we will be updating it daily as we receive more information.

*Spectrum is offering free internet services for homes with students in grades K-12 who do not currently have internet services.

Virtual Field Trips

Scholastic is offering day-to-day resources to keep kids reading. Their site also has many other free resources. Visit the site here.

Other Goose, a homeschooling site, has made its site free for the next three weeks. Visit the site here.

PBS Kids has started a daily educational newsletter with activities for parents to do with their children at home. Sign up here.

Story Time: Many favorite children authors are offering story times on their social media platforms. Follow your favorite authors on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter to see what they are offering.

Mo Willems invites YOU into his studio every day for his LUNCH DOODLE. Learners worldwide can draw, doodle and explore new ways of writing by visiting Mo’s studio virtually once a day for the next few weeks.
