When the Exit 111 Festival was announced earlier this month, organizers promised the three-day rock festival would transform Great Stage Park, the property that also hosts Bonnaroo, into a “rock and roll playground.”
The lineup for the inaugural festival released Tuesday morning includes some of rock’s heaviest hitters, a few legendary acts and some up-and-comers who are making names for themselves on the scene.
Overall, the lineup includes more than 40 bands, including headliners Lynyrd Skynyrd, Def Leppard and Guns N’ Roses.
The festival, set for Oct. 11-13 in Manchester, will celebrate all forms of rock, from hard to classic, alternative to Southern, said Marcee Rondan, spokesperson for the organizers, C3 Presents and AC Entertainment.
The Exit 111 Festival will feature 12 hours of music each day, spread across three stages, said Rondan. This marks the first event other than Bonnaroo to utilize the 700-plus acre farm.
In keeping with the “rock and roll playground” promise, Exit 111 will also feature a variety of nonmusical attractions.
“Onsite adventures include Paranormal Cirque, an R-rated crazy, yet fun, fusion between circus, theatre and cabaret in perfect harmony with the evolution of a show that brings you back to when we dream … and when we had nightmares and fantasies,” Rondan said.
The festival will also feature the Exit 111 car show, Red Bull motocross demonstrations and a “mega sports bar” airing full sports coverage throughout the weekend.
Additional activities will be announced closer to the festival date, organizers said this week.
The Exit 111 lineup is as follows: Guns N Roses, Def Leppard, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Slayer, ZZ Top, Deftones, Ghost, Megadeth, Coheed & Cambria, Lamb of God, Mastodon, Seether, Alter Bridge, Gojira, Cheap Trick, Blackberry Smoke, Black Label Society, Ministry, Skillet, Nothing More, Sleeping With Sirens, Of Mice and Men, Thrice, White Chapel, Power Trip, Black Stone Cherry, Fever 333, Graveyard, The Cadillac Three, 10 Years, From Ashes to New, Tyler Bryant and the Shakedown, New Years Day, Alien Weaponry, Bishop Gunn, Dead Sara, Plague Vendor, Dirty Honey, Tetrarch, Watermox, Kyle Shutt, and O’Brother.
Organizers are excited to bring a new event to fans.
“We’re really looking forward to promoting this new festival and experience at the Great Stage Park,” said representatives of C3 Presents and AC Entertainment. “It’s exciting to bring an additional event to the site, on top of the iconic Bonnaroo festival.”
For Exit 111, festival promoters have teamed with Seether frontman Shaun Morgan’s Rise Above charity, according to Rondan.
“Beyond having one of the festival stages named as the Rise Above Stage, Exit 111 will donate $1 from every ticket sold to Suicide Awareness Voices of Education (SAVE),” Rondan said. “These efforts will assist in raising funds for the charity’s life-saving suicide awareness efforts which started at Rise Above Festival.”
SAVE is the leading national nonprofit suicide prevention organization working to prevent suicide through public awareness, education and training.
