Don’t ask me how I can tell, but there is a shift in the universe right now in Grundy County. I can feel it in my bones, and deep in my soul. All the signs are there, the spirit is moving in the hearts and minds surrounding Laager Independent Methodist Church too. This revival is an epic show of how on fire our community is about saving the lives of our young people and everyone around them. What a wonderful Easter season it has become.
Speaking of Jesus, this Saturday night is the monthly Christian Heritage Wrestling at the Florence Scruggs Auditorium in Altamont. The doors open at 6 p.m., Bell time is 7 p.m. Cost is $5 per person or $10 per person if you want to get in on the VIP fun photo opportunity backstage with the wrestlers, perfect for kids of all ages. This month the main event is the Altamont Grudge Tag Match. Saturday is also the second annual Spring Barn sale at Shelton Farms in Pelham from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., there will be 60 plus handmade arts and crafts vendors, boutiques and local small businesses scheduled to attend, plus food trucks. Admission is free, I heard the Easter will be there too.
Coalmont OHV Park officially had their soft opening last weekend, DC PowerSports was there, this weekend American 4wd and Outfitters out of Chattanooga will be at the park from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Grundy County residents get half price on annual passes, so I would just go ahead and get yours if you plan on using the park more than three times in a year. Everything is done online at their website, including the liability waiver form which is mandatory for all visitors to the park. Their website is: www.coalmontohvpark.com
Some odds and ends around town; Beersheba senior meals are at noon on the last Tuesday of the month at the community center, Flury’s in Tracy has their seeds in, Smoke House Patio Grill added an open mic to their Sundays from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m., Vibrant Synergy changed to spring hours, GRACE is having an event at Bigfoot Adventure the weekend of March 26, and Chase Bryant is the new volunteer weather reporter at GCTV6. Whew. So many cool things happening in our little world.
As always, until next time, shop local. See y’all next week.
