Hey Neighbors!
So many big things happening around here. The biggest, at least from a “we are living history” perspective, is the new Savage Gulf State Park that split from our South Cumberland State Park. Now we will have double the park infrastructure in Grundy, including a separate welcome center and other amenities. That will sure help out our current park staff, and rangers offer more activities to the public.
Also, big news on the addiction recovery front, Recovery Soldiers Ministries and Highland Church announced they will be adding a Grundy location. They join Mosaic Recovery Center as another great opportunity to give people the help they need to make a new life for themselves and their families.
Are you looking for a good job? The American Job Center in Tracy City is hosting a Hiring & Resource Fair on Thursday from 1:30pm to 4:30pm. Follow the signs at the old high school. Another interesting resource is the new My TN app, which just won some big award for being fabulous. The app compiles multiple state of Tennessee services into one convenient resource. Business resources, children and families, driver services, employment, health and wellness, lifestyles, public safety and public service are the categories listed. You can find the My TN app on any app platform.
Want to help keep people warm this winter? Going on now until October 26, the Coat of Many Colors Community Coat Drive at Pryor Ridge Church is looking for new or gently used coats. For more information, or to get involved, contact: 931-304-6571
The official November 8 election ballot has just been released, it can be found at several online locations and will be printed in this paper. Besides Governor, US Congressman, and State Representative, and most Grundy municipal elections, there are four state constitutional amendments that we need to get up to speed on here shortly. Early voting starts October 19 and runs thru November 3.
If you are a crafter, there are several opportunities to share your goodies with the public this Fall and Winter. The full schedule of events can be found @ www.tnsouthcumberland.com
