Democratic Party Election Kickoff at the Courthouse

Posted on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at 3:17 pm

With only twenty-one days until early voting begins, many folks are looking at this wonderful field of Democratic Party candidates wondering who will get their important vote. Each vote is crucial and made much more so when you have so many worthy candidates running for a single nomination. It is with that in mind that the Grundy County Democratic Party proudly invites you to our “Election Kick-Off at the Courthouse” to meet and greet the candidates who want to serve you in public office.

This is a free event on the lawn of the Courthouse beginning at 5:00 p.m. and lasting until 7:00 p.m. on April 15, which is the day before early voting begins. In the event of inclement weather that day, the event will be held at the Altamont Community Center at the same scheduled time.

There will also be FREE barbeque for the first 250 folks at the event, which will be graciously provided by Kris Gore who is running for State Representative in our district. We will also have live music at this event with a very special guest speaker Roy Herron, Chairman of the Tennessee Democratic Party. The Grundy County Democratic Party is proud to have our State Party Chairman come to Grundy County the day before early voting begins and get folks fired up about the upcoming election. Herron is an author, former State Representative, former State Senator, and in January 2013 he was elected Chairman of the Tennessee Democratic Party. We are glad to have him with us for this event and hope to see you at the Courthouse on April 15 for what will be a great event!
