Gubernatorial candidate Karl Dean (D) visited Tracy City on Monday to attend a roundtable discussion on child welfare in Grundy County. Emily Partin, Discover Together, explained how the Discover Program catches families who may fall “through the cracks” and works with children to offer services that otherwise would require families to travel over an hour to receive. Judge Trey Anderson discussed the Safe Baby Court, which he piloted for the State of Tennessee this past year, and the successes they are seeing in keeping children from long-term foster care stays.
