Drivers spent hours at a standstill on Monteagle Mountain Sunday, November 9. Crashes involving three tractor-trailers and two cars left the eastbound lanes of I-24 congested while the Tennessee Highway Patrol worked the scene. A tractor-trailer carrying a load of eggs lost control and flipped over on its side a little after 10:00 a.m. A second driver stopped to offer assistance when a third-tractor trailer sped by, shearing off the side of the second driver’s truck. The third truck spilled a portion of its load on a car that then clipped another car. Two people went transported by ambulance to the hospital but there were no life-threatening injuries reported by any of the people involved.
