With the dead period over and the official start of fall practice just two weeks away, the Yellow Jacket football team has resumed workouts leading up to fall practice. Just prior to the time off for the athletes, Head Coach Tracy Hayworth introduced the new middle school head football coach to players and parents. He is Connor Creutz.
Coach Creutz is a 2016 graduate of Tennessee Tech. He has coached the last two years at Warren County Middle School, where he coached the offensive and defensive lines. He taught fifth grade math and science at Bobby Ray Memorial Elementary School in McMinnville.
Coach Creutz will also assist the high school team on Friday nights during the season. He will be teaching math at Coalmont Elementary School during the 2019 – 2020 school year.
“I’m excited to get started this week,” said Coach Creutz.
One reason I came to Grundy County is I had an opportunity to help get this feeder middle school program started. The best teams in Tennessee all have programs that run very similar to what their high school program does. I think what makes a really successful program is when you’re able to come together with the high school coach and that’s what we are trying to do.”
