Hunter Northcutt, 15, of Pelham, passed away Monday, after a battle with cancer and leukemia. Originally diagnosed with stage four Ewing’s Sarcoma, Hunter fought the disease and went into remission. However, on August 17, he was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
While undergoing chemotherapy for leukemia, Hunter was inundated with cards featuring puppies. He had requested that people send him “puppy FLASH” cards that he could read in the hospital. The request also honored his dog Flash, who Hunter said would enjoy the cards.
Hunter was a member of the Grundy County Bass team and an avid fisherman. He enjoyed hunting and playing with dogs. He was a vital member of the community and will be greatly missed.
A scholarship fund has been set up in Hunter’s memory. Donations can be sent to the Hunter Northcutt Scholarship Fund, 2904 St Rd 50, Pelham, Tennessee 37366.
