Community Cares is hoping to better Grundy County. And, it all started with garbage pickup. “Well, really it all started with a post I had made about garbage pickup – just wanting to do something proactive for our county because we need more helping hands,” stated Haley Sons, of Altamont. “Amber Brown reached out to me and said that we should make a group and plan for things over the weekend. I think a lot us would be a lot happier if we did our part. It can start from something as small as picking up trash on the road you live on, putting back cans to go for the food bank, or helping elderly with yard work. We need something like this to grow and become normal for our community. That’s why we decided to make Community Cares. Anyone and everyone is welcome to join. We should start giving back.” You can join the group’s Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/groups/533105234126258/. Pictured are (l to r): Haley Sons, Makayla Fincher, and Amber Brown.
