On Saturday, February 22 members of the Grundy County Board of Education and residents of the community attended an open house and dedication ceremony of the new additions at Coalmont Elementary. Attendees toured the facilities newly added classrooms and were served refreshments in the lunchroom. The new east wing of the school was dedicated with a plaque to educator Ray Winton. The new south wing of the school was dedicated with a plaque to the late Taylor Nunley and his wife Frances Nunley for their 26 years of dedication to Coalmont School. Daughters Connie Scissom and Glenda Meeks were in attendance to accept the plaque for their parents. The cafeteria was dedicated to Rick Rust and his wife Rose for their many years of service to Coalmont School.
