Frank Brown, 76, of Coalmont, was severely injured during a home invasion over the weekend. The Grundy County Sheriff’s Department reports that early Saturday morning, Brown answered his door to someone asking to use the phone. Once the door was open, the intruders attacked him, stealing prescription pills and guns.

Brown was airlifted and suffered a broken jaw and multiple lacerations. His face was too swollen for immediate treatment of his broken jaw. DSCN0801

A witness saw a women walking in the vicinity of Brown’s home on Saturday and called the sheriff’s department. Deputies arrested Heather Levan, 29, of 255 Tootley Campbell Road in Monteagle.

Levan was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, aggravated burglary, filing a false report, and possession of stolen property.

Brown was able to identify Levan, and the GCSO is continuing the search for one, and possibly two, other suspects.
