Brown Speaks on Educational Funding

Beth Brown, President of the Tennessee Educational Association, spoke to local residents on Monday, at the Gruetli-Laager Community Center. She addressed educational funding and highlighted Tennessee’s impressive ranking (Tennessee schools get top 10 results) with the fact that the state ranks in the bottom 10 when it comes to funding schools. Tennessee is seventh in the nation when it comes to ACT scores and eighth in the nation in graduation rates. However, the state ranks forty-third in the nation for funding per student.
