Breast Cancer Benefit

Posted on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at 2:31 pm

There will be a benefit for Angela Guess Jacobs, 36, who has breast cancer on March 21 at Cravens Hall in Sewanee. Barbeque plates will be sold at 5:00 p.m. and there will be a Quarter Auction starting at 6:00 p.m. Raffle tickets for $2 each will also be sold for a chance to win a box of Winchester 22 long rifle ammunition (1,000 rounds) to be given away at the benefit plus you can buy T-shirts and bracelets to help raise money.

Angela, the daughter of Leon and Charlene Guess of Sherwood, is married to Jim Jacobs, and she has a daughter, Eliza, a stepdaughter, Carla Green, and a stepson, Dennis Jacobs. She lives in Sewanee in the Midway community and is an aide for the Pre-K class at Sewanee Elementary. Her husband, Jim, works for the Sewanee Utility District.

Angela was diagnosed in November with breast cancer. She has had a lumpectomy and began her chemo treatments on March 13, 2014. Friends and family have come together to raise money and support her through her journey. Everyone is encouraged to come out and support this beautiful lady and her family. Donations are still needed.

Contact Amanda Knight at 931-691-0962 for more information on how you can help.   There has been a Facebook page set up for her called “Team Angela.” This page was created to offer words of encouragement, follow her on her journey and find out how everyone can help. Please everyone go and like the page.

Everyone please come out on Friday, March 21 and support Angela.
