“Books Building Bridges” with Head Start

Posted on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 11:48 am

Police officers in Tracy City have been visiting the Head Start program in honor of October as “Head Start Awareness Month.”
The visits are part of the “Books Building Bridges” program in which Head Start programs across the nation are partnering with local law enforcement to ensure that reading and understanding each other are a part of their everyday lives. This program also works to erase the negative connotation that often comes with views of the police. This program ensures that children build positive relationships with the local police.
