Due to the lack of rain over the last few months, Big Creek Utility District is requesting that its customers reduce water usage where possible. The U.S. Drought Monitor shows Grundy County to be experiencing “abnormally dry” weather conditions. This has led to the Big Creek Lake being at a level that triggers action outlined in the Big Creek Utility District Drought Management Plan. According to the weather forecast, these conditions are not going to change in the near future.
This request for reduced water usage by Big Creek Utility District customers is voluntary. Your efforts can help reduce the amount of water needed to be withdrawn from the lake and avoid further actions. If conditions persist and worsen, you will be notified of water usage restrictions.
Thank You for your cooperation.
