Big 8 Volleyball

Results are being turned in by one school from Big 8 volleyball play. All other schools are encouraged to turn in your results to the Grundy County Herald as well.

The Swiss Lady Wildcats are off to 4-0 start on the season. First year head Coach Tommy Andrews is very pleased with his team’s success.

“I’m excited to be in coaching again. Volleyball is a new sport for me so starting off 4-0 shows what a good group of student athletes we have. We feel we have been tested early and look forward to the challenges to follow during the rest of the season,” said Andrews.

volley1In their first games played in Jasper, Swiss got two wins. Against Palmer, they won 25-7 and 25-14. Jordan Dishroon led the Lady Wildcats with 7 aces and one assist. Shayla Barks scored 5 aces.

Their second contest they downed Jasper 25-10 and 25-4. Jordan Dishroon again notched 7 aces and an assist. Caitlyn Crabtree registered 4 aces and 3 assists. Ashley Smith had an ace, 2 assists and a dig.

In their first home match, they defeated Monteagle 24-26, 25-23 and 15-12. Peyton Mainord had a big game with 10 aces, 3 kills and a dig. Ashley Smith scored 3 aces and 4 kills. Caitlyn Crabtree and Shayla Barks had 3 aces each. Shayla Anderson had one ace and 3 kills.

In their last game reported, Swiss beat Coalmont 25-19 and 25-15. Jordan Dishroon had 8 aces. Cara Burrows registered 2 aces, a kill and a dig. Shayla Anderson notched 3 aces. Regan Meeks added 2 assists.
