The Grundy County football team is hosting a fundraiser and bringing back the Big 8 All-Star game. It will feature the top athletes from the conference this season. The game will be held Thursday, February 26, at Grundy County High School. The girls’ contest will begin at 6:00 p.m. with the boys to follow. All proceeds from this event will assist new Yellow Jacket Head Coach Casey Tate and the Yellow Jackets for the 2015 season.
Both squads will be divided into a purple team and a gold team to face off against each other for bragging rights.
For the girls’ side Team Purple will be coached by Brittany Woodlee and her players will include Taylor Meeks, McKenzie Broadway, Hannah Schild, Caitlyn Crabtree, Anna Post, Emily Rhea, Delaney Hughes, Michelle McDaniel, Kate Butler and Latrice Anderson.
Team Gold will be coached by Jackie Anderson and his players include Bailey Sweeton, Hannah Tate, Emma Seagroves, Ashley Green, Sara Barrett, Rachel Shrum, Kristen Stiefel, Ashley Smith, Meleah Stevens and Naveah Avant.
Team Purple for the boys will be coached by Laura Meeks and will include Kenzie Hill, Ethan Nunley, Lucas Borne, Seven Yates, Nathaniel Myers, Brayden Sanders, Dalton Fults, Eli Tipton, Griffyn Rogers and Hunter Sylvester.
Nat Newsome will coach Team Gold and his players will be Kollyn Cooper, Johnny Adkins, Josh Wingo, Dakota Hardin, Tyler Patrick, Kole Smith, Grayson Lawson, Jarron Meeks, Cullen Anderson and Larson Heitzenrater.
All Big 8 cheerleaders are encouraged to come out and cheer for the games. They will also be given time to do a two minute performance during the event.
