The Jackets are rolling up the wins notching three in their last four outings. Their one loss was to Chattanooga Christian giving the Chargers the sweep in the series. Grundy got a key district win Monday night in Dunlap. They improved to 9-3 on the season and 1-2 in district play.

“The CCS series we shot ourselves in the foot. Every time we made an error they capitalized on it. You can’t beat good teams making mistakes, but we’re taking our lessons from it and hopefully we don’t repeat the mistakes. Hopefully, by the end of April we’re going to be a much improved team.

baseball 8 “We didn’t play Whitwell exceptionally. They threw a lefty that gave us some trouble but we found a way to win. Saturday against Signal we had a much better approach to the plate. We walked a few at the end and made it closer than it should have been.

“Tonight we played well. Scoring five in the first loosened the kids up and they played very well,” said Coach Chase Jones after Monday’s win.

Tuesday Grundy hosted Sequatchie County for the second district game. Thursday they host Whitwell at 5:00. Saturday they host DeKalb County at 1 p.m. Monday and Tuesday they face Bledsoe County with Monday’s game in Pikeville at 5:30 p.m. and Tuesday’s on the mountain at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday they host Huntland at 5:30 p.m. Get out and support the Jackets this week!
