Baseball Splits Games

The Grundy County Yellow Jacket baseball team played Notre Dame last Monday at GCHS and lost a rain shortened five inning game 1 – 0 to the Irish. The Jackets traveled to Chattanooga on Wednesday after the Tuesday game was washed out and defeated the Irish 13 – 6.

The district split left the Jackets with a district record of 3 – 9. The Jackets are 8 – 14 overall. The Jackets were to play host to Bledsoe County on Monday and then traveled to Pikeville Tuesday for the second game of their series. Tonight the Jackets travel to Whitwell for a 6 p.m. contest. Tomorrow night (Friday) the Jackets play host to Huntland at 5 p.m. Saturday the Jackets will travel to Dunlap to play Sequatchie County in their final district regular season game. Game time will be 1 p.m. Next Tuesday the Jackets will end the regular season with a home game with Whitwell at 5:30 p.m.
