Grundy baseball is battling the weather, but when they are playing they are winning. In all three games they played, the Jackets prevailed over the last week. The team is now 12-3 on the season and 2-2 in district play.

“The second time we played Sequatchie it was much closer. Tanner Foutch pitched an exceptional game for us. We had chances to score several runs but Sequatchie did a good job of minimizing those opportunities so we got out of there with the 2-1 win.

“Against Marion on Friday, we played well and did what we needed to. We scored some early runs against a quality pitcher. It was a very good offensive output for us.

“We didn’t play well the first inning against DeKalb but clawed our way back into. We have to play better than this one. We can’t play this way against quality teams and things turn out well all the time. We have things to clean up if we want to have success against good teams.
