An arrest has been made in the November 13, Stocker-Stampfli Farm Museum burglary. Grundy County Sheriff Clint Shrum reports that Tommy James, 27, of Gruetli-Laager, has been charged in the theft that included china, farm implements, furniture, tools, boxes of t-shirts, flags, and a Husqvarna lawn mower.
A photographer using the 135-year-old farmhouse as a backdrop discovered the theft. Finding the back door bashed in, she reported the theft to the caretaker who notified the farm’s curator and the authorities.
Shrum says that items from the burglary were found at the suspect’s home on Fletcher Road and that more charges are pending.
