Eight people were arrested late Saturday night after Grundy County sheriff’s deputies responded to a fight call at the Gruetli-Laager horse arena.
According to Sheriff Clint Shrum, the annual St. Jude Horse Show was winding down when the first fight broke out. As deputies arrived things had settled down and it was only verbal. The incident had originated the night before in Pikeville.
While deputies were sorting through the chaos, a brawl ensued resulting in the arrest of all involved. Charges range from assault, resisting arrest and inciting a riot.
