Swiss Memorial Wildcats Place 2nd at Murfreesboro Tourney

The Swiss Memorial Wildcats traveled to Murfreesboro to participate in the James C. Haile Tournament and finished second in the Class A division. The Wildcats defeated York Middle School from Jamestown 38 – 27 on Thursday, January 26, in the semifinals. The team outscored their opponents 24 – 13 in the second half after the teams were tied 14 – 14 at the half. Jaden Ruehling led the victors with 12 points.

In the championship game, the Wildcats rallied from a 22 -17 halftime deficit to take a 29 – 28 lead after three quarters. However, the Bobcats of Pickett County outscored the Wildcats 18 – 7 in the final stanza to defeat the Wildcats 46 – 36 and secure the tournament championship. Jordan Hackworth led Swiss Memorial with 12 points.
