Mountain Valley Volleyball Update

The Palmer Elementary School Lady Bulldogs hosted the Tracy City Elementary School Lady Eagles last week.

In the first set, the Lady Bulldogs and the Lady Eagles battled hard trying to get the win. In the end, the Lady Bulldogs won the set 28-26. In the second set, the Eagles came back and won it 26-24. Entering the third set, the Bulldogs were hoping for their fourth victory of the year. The Lady Bulldogs won 15-12 bringing their season record to 4-1.

The Lady Bulldogs were led by Jaylee Rollins with 3 aces and an 86 percent serve percentage and an 83 percent pass percentage. Additional stats reported include Katelynn Hammonds: 4 aces and an 82 percent serve percentage and an 81 percent pass percentage and a set; Jeresha Meeks: 3 aces with a 64 percent serve percentage and a 65 percent pass percentage; Mackenzie Reeves: 5 aces, a 62 percent serve percentage, an 88 percent pass percentage, a 100 percent hit percentage and a set; Ayla Hoy: a 75 percent serve percentage and 57 percent pass percentage; Destiney Totherow: an 82 percent pass percentage and 3 sets; and Leandra Morrison: 80 percent pass percentage and a 100 percent hit percentage.

In the game for Tracy City, Leigha Perrigan had 7 aces, Emily Johnson had 3 aces, Wrylee Simmons had 2 aces, and Mariah Wise had 1 ace and 1 kill.

“In the Valentines Day Matchup,” said Tracy City coach Pamela Warren, “both teams played their heart out.”

“All four of our 4 wins this year have come from teamwork. This is the best I’ve seen these girls play since they started playing,” said Palmer coach Seann Lewis. “These girls are working great together covering each others weakness and encouraging in each other for success. Their dedication in practice is what is getting the results in the games.”
